I wonder if you've hit an issue of the graphics mode running beyond the
range of your monitor?  You could try CTRL ALT with + or - on the number
pad, to change resolutions on the fly.  You could try CTRL ALT F1 to get
to a text console.

If either of them makes a difference, you want to reconfigure your
graphics mode.  CTRL ALT F1 to a console, log in as root, run

 system-config-display --reconfig

and follow what you can through the interface that pops up.

Using FC 4, 5, 6 & 7, plus CentOS 5.  Today, it's FC7.
