It could be faulty, or not compatible with your board.  That happens.

Run memtest86+ from the prompt, see the F key hints for help.  Boot the
install disc, read the text, don't start installing.

Using FC 4, 5, 6 & 7, plus CentOS 5.  Today, it's FC7.
