Hi,

After I upgraded to F7, Xine and Kaffeine no longer play divx and xdiv
video files. I hear the audio, but the screen remains black. MPlayer
and KPlayer (which is based on mplayer) play the same files
correctly. Also, when I was running FC6, I used to play these videos
using Xine / Kaffeine.

Hi again,

I found the following bugzilla (from previous posting to the fedora-list). http://bugzilla.livna.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1489

I did 'xine --verbose movie.avi' and just basically tracked down the dependencies that xine needed. I found that by installing the following, xine is able to play all of my movie that I tried. Kaffeine also works now (since it just basically depends on xine).

yum install vlc vlc-devel libmad libmad-devel madplay libmp4v2 gsm directfb

I have Livna repository installed, and some of those packages are from Livna (and they will also get more dependencies).

Hope that helps.

Exactly. All the other software is dead in the water. VLC is the ONLY thing that plays mp3 and DVD movies and anything else with no problems.
