I already did that and it does not solve the problem.

$ firefox -safe-mode
Same crash.
and
$ strace firefox
Strace sent to Andy Green directly.
to see if we can get a clue.
Also... is about:plugins one of those things that crash? What plugins
are listed, if not?
Yes about:plugins also crashes.
