One Line on Startup

I have heard that because I am using forwarding in
iptables, it is necessary to do:
   echo 1 > /proc/sys/net/ipv4/ip_forward
on startup. I have a vague memory that there is
a good place to put such commands, rather than
writing a startup script just for this line.
Any suggestions?
