Yes - I picked a fairly easy (and short) page.

Your example can be converted using method #2 - the LOOP extension for
FF.  It's 1.6 MB, but can be copied from, and the images and layout
are intact.

I'm not sure how to proceed with Paul's problem, but I think we've
narrowed it down to a font issue at least.  Not sure if this is
useful, but a quick list of installed fonts/font packages:
