BTW,

Others are also experiencing these kinds of problems as well, here's at thread for Arch Linux

Strange situation!  
Note:  in Fedora 7, ps2pdf is working for me.  What could be wrong?
Fedora Core 6 confirms your troubles.  I have tried to change the options and still the same, with Firefox and Konqueror as well.
