I have the same problem as Craig saw. I have a Samsung 4500 laser
printer hooked to the parallel port. It was working with Fedora 7. I
blindly applied any available update packages. Today when I try to
use the printer, it did not work. I deleted it and tried to
reconfigure, however, there is no LPR port available in the list,
just like what Craig described.

So I guess it is a common problem.
