I grabbed a perl script from somewhere that will print the status of a
dhcp.leases file:

> dhcpreport -c -p -x
3 active leases (60%)
129.7.128.201 Alive 08-08-2007 12:06PM (*blank*)
129.7.128.202 Alive 08-08-2007 01:03PM (*blank*)
129.7.128.207 Dead 08-08-2007 01:03PM (*blank*)
129.7.128.213 Alive 08-08-2007 01:03PM (*blank*)
129.7.128.219 Dead 08-08-2007 12:50PM (*blank*)

It's short; I'll attach it. Try searching for "dhcpreport" and maybe
you'll be able to find an updated version.
