I am running kernel 2.6.18-1.2798.fc6 I thought it was a disk problem too, that is why I imaged the machine to a new hard disk. It is a single Seagate drive Barracuda 160GB (one of those situations where a test machine got quickly used for production, but I am planning to move it to real server as soon as the approvals come through) running on an ASUS P5NSLI motherboard.
