Actually, I get 35 KB per page, after saving it to a file. 35 kb? That's tiny. You're not saving as jpg, are you? Go for png, but if that's too large then look at gif. About 100-150 kb sounds about right in my opinion, based upon faxes that I've received as pngs.
The first page, 35kb, but the other ones, 100-150 kb, in pdf format. Xsane let us save the scanning result directly in pdf. Paul
