No go.
I can create the tunnel; I can see sit0 with all the binded
interfaces, but I cannot ping the other end.
Any idea what to check?

What gives ping6 -I TUNNEL_NAME ff02::1? Should look like:
PING ff02::1(ff02::1) from fe80::c0a8:fe01 dur-tun: 56 data bytes
64 bytes from fe80::c0a8:fe01: icmp_seq=1 ttl=64 time=0.097 ms
64 bytes from fe80::c0a8:ff01: icmp_seq=1 ttl=64 time=36.5 ms (DUP!)
64 bytes from fe80::c0a8:fe01: icmp_seq=2 ttl=64 time=0.021 ms
64 bytes from fe80::c0a8:ff01: icmp_seq=2 ttl=64 time=15.5 ms (DUP!)
64 bytes from fe80::c0a8:fe01: icmp_seq=3 ttl=64 time=0.021 ms
You should check the firewall and, may be, consider beeing more specific
about your tunnel setup.
