I don't recall the installation process ever asking me that, but I may be mistaken.

Perhaps I'm thinking of SUSE.

"System mail" should be the daily logwatch mail. It is usually sent to root. I have set /etc/aliases to send root's mail to my regular user ID which I pick up from thunderbird.

Sounds good.

I ventured into /etc, and saw that aliases is a simple text file. I noticed "Person who should get root's mail" at the bottom, and put in my username. Then, ran newaliases.

I also use TB. How do I set it up to get this mail?
