OK - that's sort of ugly for a workstation though isn't it? Java,
Acrobat Reader and various browser plugins

I have a few of them so I might play around with that option - why is
that if the x86_64 doesn't need the kernel parameters to locate the hard
drive - that grub still doesn't work?
