Hi list
My new 250Gb SATA drive is making a clicking noise from time to time, starting
approximately 10 minuets or so from boot up. I just fired up the hardware
browser and its telling me its using ata_generic driver for a nVida mcp61
chip. Is this normal?

I suspect so. I have a SATA controller (PCI) in a CentOS5 box, and I
had to use -d ata to use smartctl
