# yum install vlc
I clicked on it and a small panel showed up. No idea what to do
but I clicked on File and then Open Disk and then clicked a little
more and the movie started. It was exciting because I was not sure I
would ever see this.
What would then be the difference with xine ? I always use xine to
view movies. What does vlc add ?
Among other things it's cross-platform with matching windows/mac/linux
versions and even though it is called a client it can also act as a
server, streaming data to any number of clients on any platform. With a
little better playlist support it could be really nice.
