Javascript and Konqueror

I did a fresh install of Fedora 7 keeping my old /home. It came out well with
one exception: When I go to web pages requiring javascript, it doesn't work.
I followed the instructions at the Unofficial Fedora FAQ site along with the
fix given here earlier today (see the thread "F7: Sun java 1.6..."). FWIW,
javascript does work in FireFox, and it did work in both browsers on FC6.

(While I usually keep javascript disabled, there are a few sites where it is
very useful. Most important to me is being able to view the weather radar
scans at the National Weather Service. We have a lot of thunderstorms around
here and I like to know what may be coming my way before it gets here.)

Any leads would be welcome.
