Live CD's just copy the entire file images to your hard disk. You can't
use it to perform an upgrade.

Use the Rescue CD image. Unfortunately you will have to use the DVD
torrent to get it or wait until the mirrors have the ISO on line.

Dozens of mirrors already have the boot.iso and rescue images.
