installing a live cd on a server

Hello there,

I have a server here which runs fc6 but wanting it upgraded to f7.  Can I
use the live cd to do this and still keep everything like my previous docs
by mounting the current partitions?  from fc6? then add packages as I need
them afterwords?  how do I enable ssh on that system.  SSh is what I use all
the time to talk to the system.
