I have tried to install Fedora (Fedora 6, Fedora 5, Fedora 2) on my pc using
a Sony DVD RW DV-Q120A.

No matter which version of Fedora I use, the installation doesn't run. In
the case of Fedora 6, Anaconda

Never starts and I get a blue screen and no response except to
<alt><cntrl><delete>.

Can you boot other DVDs? We once had a DVD writer here that did not
boot from any DVD, no matter the OS to be installed. We then bought a
simple read-only drive which worked.

Also make sure the bios is set up to boot from that DVD drive. If you changed out drives and did not reset the bios, it could be "confused".
