Thanks Paulo its now working except for KDE system sounds,the KDE test
sound works but nothing else in KDE.
Try kcontrol > Sound & Multimedia > Sound System > Hardware tab > Select audio
device. Autodetect works for me at the moment, on this box, but on some I've
had to set it to alsa.
