However, a common problem with front mounted sockets is when the cable is grounded at both ends, and USB sockets are coupled to the audio jacks. I had a collection of nasty problems until I removed the front connector board, split the grounds apart between USB and audio sockets, and isolated them all from the chassis with a bit of tape and those non-conductive washers you get when you buy a new PC case. All those connections were already grounded at the plug that goes into the motherboard. If you'd like to use the convenient sockets on the front, it can be worth the bother of reworking the wiring. -- (This box runs FC6, my others run FC4 & FC5, in case that's important to the thread.)
