Trade mark guidelines are by themselves are not necessarily inflexible.
It is just another legal instrument with its own boundaries just like
copyright. Renaming a package to meet those guidelines isn't stupid. It
is a mandatory requirement. You could argue that the choice of the name
but then you need to suggest something more appealing.
