Wait, why wouldn't that work? Even if you have no control over the
partition layout when Vista installs, you can still use Vista's diskpart
to resize the filesystems as you like.
I never booted Vista yet but did read up on some of its aspects. One of
the items was related to Vista having the ability to resize the
partition. If this is true, it makes best sense to use its capability.
