I have no idea what 2.6.20-1.2944_1.fc6.cubbi_suspend2 includes, but I've used USB mice on nearly every stock Fedora kernel including 2944.  My laptop supports any mouse I want to use:  USB corded or wireless.  In fact, I've never had a problem with a mouse on Fedora of any kind.  My experience is based on four different laptops, and several tower-style systems.

To the question, posted elsewhere about a USB problem in stock kernels, I think the answer is no.  A query in Red Hat's Bugzilla would discover if anyone has reported a bug formally.
