user. Usually, it mostly contains an install log and a kickstart file
generated on install.

No, it was the /root directory that I deleted. At that time, I was
doing some system changes and I some original and the backup files in
the /root directory. As well as some old admin scripts that I had been
using for years.
I was trying to delete some files in a directory that had different
owners and permissions so "su" was the only way to do it quickly. I
typed in "su -" and just forgot that it took me to /root directory. Ouch.
Mistakes happen.
