my understanding with *unbuntu is that only the first user has sudo
privileges....

I use FC6 and also Dapper Drake and Feisty Fawn as well as Debian Etch
and CentOS for server applications.

And about ubuntu sudo you are right only the first user can do it,
unless later on you configure another one in the sodoers table, but as
default only the first user.

Withouth wanting to start a fight, I may think this distro is even
more secure for not having root user, (actually it has, but has no
password so you can not use it, unless you run
sudo passwd root
and put a password)
because the hacker need to guess your username and your password to
gain access to the server, not only the password.
