-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 It would appear that on Apr 20, Kam Leo did say: > > Did you install the HP drivers, i.e. hplip and hpijs? > well I feel like I should probably say: "Duh!, no I didn't" My only excuse is that all I ever wanted of my print system is to make my local printer work... Once that's done, I won't think about it again till it stops working. So I didn't know I needed them. And actualy that little hint of yours just got my printer working on two of my P3 desktop's linux distributions... Of course it's never quite that easy ;) with FC6: yum install hplip hpijs yielded the fact that they were there, but in need of upgrading. Which led to a conflict with some "sane" lib... So I wound up just updating the whole system...Which took next to forever! But now fc6 can print... And so can the kubuntu on my P3 desktop that was upgraded from breezy to dapper and then from dapper to edgy via apt-get. now it works as well as the new install edgy on my laptop. Which incidentally, isn't quite as good as Fc6 now does... BTW isn't one of those two drivers supposed to come with some printer maintenance stuff two??? How does one access it? I'd dearly like to NOT have to boot a M$ OS next time I need a maintenance routine to flush the "jets" with a cleaning cycle.
