For someone who is not using Gnome, you certainly have a lot of Gnome
packages installed on your machine.... <grin>
evolution-data-server was "split" from the evolution user package to
provide data support for a lot of Gnome related applications.... While
you apparently already removed evolution itself from your system, you
still have a lot of Gnome related applications installed.... The real
question is whether or not you are using any of those other applications
at all....
Remember, just because you are running KDE, doesn't mean that you might
not run a Gnome based application at some point..... You may want to
view e-d-s much like GTK libraries, support files for applications you
may want to run in the future....

Maybe the name should be changed if it has been split from evolution to
more of a calender/contact data server or something like that.
I guess the suggestion should be made to the Gnome bugzilla.
