I think you've missed reading a crucial part of the thread: The use of CTRL + ENTER with the entry. If you type something into the address bar that's not an address and then press enter, you get a google search. e.g. "new movies" & enter leads you to "http://movies.go.com/" But if you type something in that's not an address press CTRL *and* ENTER (i.e. hold down CTRL, and press ENTER while you're still holding it down), you get the www. and .com additions. e.g. "new movies" & CTRL + ENTER gives "http://www.new movies.com/" (which doesn't work, because there's a space in the domain name, which isn't allowed). It does this whether you're on or off-line, by the way. That was just a simple way of testing things without involving an outside factor. -- (This box runs FC6, my others run FC4 & FC5, in case that's important to the thread.)
