Where does fedora save the file defaults (like mpg, php etc)

Hey,
when you right click a file and than press "Open With" you will get a list of available programs for that file and the default program. but now i`m wondering where that stuff is stored.. because i cant find it in gconf.
so.. is it stored in a configuration file? or in a database??
