This is what we do for in-house graphics. One of our nurses is a
brilliant artist but cannot use graphics software, so she draws freehand
in pencil, I scan it in and manipulate it in the Gimp to what we need
for publications. At most I can use about 20% of the Gimp, but that
works well enough for us. We are thinking of buying a drawing tablet
for her to skip the scanning step, since they seem well supported in
FC6. All of our daughters (even the 5yo) have done some pretty awesome
drawings in the Gimp that puts my drawing to shame. I'll stick to just
manipulating the images, they can keep sketching.
