Quick update - 

I created a new rule so that /dev/webcam is valid.  This is what happened:

13:36:18] Executing : ::config::setKey "webcamDevice" "/dev/webcam"

[13:36:21] Challenge accepted
[13:36:33] Catch in proc trans (MSN ): can't read "lang(MSN)": no such element 
in array
[13:36:33] Catch in proc trans (TLS ): can't read "lang(TLS)": no such element 
in array
[13:36:55] webcamDevice=/dev/video1:0
[13:36:55] Removed window .webcam_chooser.preview idx : 0 from windows
[13:36:55] Now windows is 
[13:37:02] save_config: saving config for user me@xxxxxxxxxxx 
in /home/anne/.amsn/me_hotmail_com]
[13:37:02] save_config: saving config_file. Opening of file returned : file8
[13:37:02] save_config: Config saved


The 'change video settings' finds the webcam.  Does that tell you what you 
want to know?

Is this change in configuration now persistent, or do I need to do it every 
time?
