The nvidia X driver is actually working, it just doesn't work with the last update of the kernel (maybe because I have to update also the nvidia module from livna which I understood is specific for each kernel). How would I fall back to the "nv" driver? If I could do that reliably I could try to install the "dkms" package to let the nvidia driver be built at boot-up, so that if it fails I can always get my desktop back to keep trying things... -- Walter Garcia-Fontes Barcelona
