irq timeout in messages and the PC slow down

Hi all,

I'm experiencing this behaviour and I don't understand why.

Sometimes (at least 1 times for day) my kernel log those messages:

Feb 21 10:51:56 delo kernel: hdc: irq timeout: status=0xd0 { Busy }
Feb 21 10:52:01 delo kernel: hdc: status timeout: status=0xd0 { Busy }
Feb 21 10:52:01 delo kernel: hdc: drive not ready for command
Feb 21 10:52:06 delo kernel: hdc: status timeout: status=0xd0 { Busy }
Feb 21 10:52:06 delo kernel: hdc: drive not ready for command
Feb 21 10:52:11 delo kernel: hdc: status timeout: status=0xd0 { Busy }
Feb 21 10:52:11 delo kernel: hdc: drive not ready for command

repeated for at least 150 times.

After that I see the messages
Feb 21 10:58:56 delo kernel: hdc: ATAPI reset complete
and all returns normal.

I can't understand who is using hdc (that is a DVD) and why, but I think
it's a scheduled job.

Messages appears after the 2911 Kernel.

Someone can help me solving this problem?

Tnx
 Ambrogio
