I'm probably not going to be much help, as I've only recently tried a webcam, and only bought that because it was reduced from 25€ to 5€ at my local ALDI supermarket. More by luck than judgement it uses the ov511+ driver, which is supported under Linux, and works quite well. I looked in /lib/modules/uname -r/kernel/drivers/usb/media . Both on FC2, and Debian Sarge. The driver for your cam doesn't seem to be there, and I'm sure you've looked too. It may be worth posting to the mailing list at. http://spca50x.sourceforge.net/spca50x.php?page=cams Maybe someone can give you some pointers. Of course it may be easier to buy another webcam. Check out first if the driver is available in your kernel before buying it, and make sure that you can take it back if it doesn't work. It may be worth asking also on the video4linux mailing list. They are mainly dealing with TV cards, but someone might give some help. https://www.redhat.com/mailman/listinfo/video4linux-list Sorry I can't help more. Nigel.
