You missed the point: If you were off-line, you have no connection to your ISP's SMTP server, your mail client will not send, and cannot send your mail if your PC is off. On the other hand, when you have a local SMTP server, client computers can send mail to the queue, log-off and shut down. Their mail will be sent, when it can. -- (This box runs FC6, my others run FC4 & FC5, in case that's important to the thread.) Don't send private replies to my address, the mailbox is ignored. I read messages from the public lists.
