I am afraid this illustrates a saying you may not have in Hebrew, "That
is the way the cookie crumbles".

The Hebrew expression is "כל הזין". It's not as pretty as a crumbling cookie :)

But the monitor controls affect the
monitor not the video card so I am not sure there is not something else
the matter. Changing the controls on one monitor should not affect the
image on another monitor.

The matter is not that another monitor would be connected to the
laptop, rather, that another computer connects to the same monitor
(via KVM). So if I adjust the monitor to fit the lappy, then it will
be out of adjustment for the machine that usually connects to it.
