Hi !
I don't think ability/inability to accessing internet with firefox has
anything to do with this. go to /etc/yum.repos.d as root and carefully
check all the .repo files, specially fedora-core.repo. the enabled
flag should be 1; i.e. enabled=1 and there shouldn't be a hash sign
before mirrorlist sentence.

check for the rest of the repos. also, leave the
fedora-development.repo as it is, otherwise your FC6 will become
rawhide, i suppose :)
