Hi Lance,

I assume you are using jpackage (otherwise you would not be using yum to
update Java packages). Though your query is short, the answer is a
little complicated: it kind of depends on what you are using the XSL
processor for. I am no XML expert, but as I understand it, they should
be interchangeable. Practically, however, there are differences. For
example, I've recently run into some problems generating PDFs using
xalan (I'm using DITA). 

The good news is, both Xalan and Saxon should be able to coexist on your
system peacefully (just be sure to change your CLASSPATH every time you
switch between the two).
