But a far far better question is: "Why the hell isn't it in core?" Is there some stupid, assinine even, reason to quasi-isolate it so from the users who need it most? I gave up on 4.2.6 & 7 very shortly after I'd installed FC2 when FC2 was fresh, and installed the then alpha version of gutenprint and suddenly started getting output I could put on good paper and sell, from an Epson C-82. Its still sitting about 2 feet away, and still producing excellent prints after probably 75 reams of paper and a thousand dollars worth of ink over the years. Puhleaze, quit wasting peoples time, patience, and money with nearly 3 year old drivers for gimp hardcopy. >-- >Matthew Miller mattdm@xxxxxxxxxx <http://mattdm.org/> >Boston University Linux ------> <http://linux.bu.edu/> -- Cheers, Gene "There are four boxes to be used in defense of liberty: soap, ballot, jury, and ammo.
