Right this is the last reply from all the help provided last night.

I admit I'm a bit stuck on this one. I've never used Kmail to post mail from 
one machine to another without going anywhere near the Internet, but it would 
be nice to know if it's possible.

I've learned a lot from having started this thread, and am gratefull for all 
the folks that have made suggestions to solve my problem.
