In Fedora Core 6 I can not mount the partition on one of my hard disks. It was fine in FC5, and I can mount it in the FC5 rescue disk. The device entries /dev/hdc and /dev/hdc1 exist. It seems like it was noticed during boot because I see a message in /var/log/messages : Jan 4 18:21:13 gargon kernel: hdc: 390721968 sectors (200049 MB) w/8192KiB Cache,CHS=24321/255/63, UDMA(100) Jan 4 18:21:13 gargon kernel: hdc: cache flushes supported Jan 4 18:21:13 gargon kernel: hdc: hdc1 When I try to mount it I get : sudo mount /dev/hdc1 /tmp/hdc1/ mount: /dev/hdc1 is not a valid block device The hdc1 does not show up in /proc/partitions nor in /dev/disk/by-path/ where hdc shows up as pci-0000:00:0f.1-ide-1:0 -> ../../hdc The ide controller is : 00:0f.1 IDE interface: VIA Technologies, Inc.
