That is not the same problem I am having... I ran lshal --monitor and put in two discs and nothing happened, I then put in a 3rd disc and got a result, I then put in a 5th, nothing and then a 6th with a result. As lshal output shows only 2 of the 5 discs were recognised by the drive or os... outout from lshal --monitor is below: [root@localhost ~]# lshal --monitor Start monitoring devicelist: ------------------------------------------------- storage_model_LITE_ON_COMBO_LTC_48161H property storage.removable.media_available = true storage_model_LITE_ON_COMBO_LTC_48161H property storage.removable.media_size = 2026209280 (0x78c58000) (new) volume_label_EINSTEIN_DVD_1 added volume_label_EINSTEIN_DVD_1 property volume.mount_point = '/media/EINSTEIN_DVD_1' volume_label_EINSTEIN_DVD_1 property volume.is_mounted_read_only = true volume_label_EINSTEIN_DVD_1 property volume.is_mounted = true volume_label_EINSTEIN_DVD_1 property volume.mount_point = '' volume_label_EINSTEIN_DVD_1 property volume.is_mounted_read_only = false volume_label_EINSTEIN_DVD_1 property volume.is_mounted = false storage_model_LITE_ON_COMBO_LTC_48161H property storage.removable.media_available = false storage_model_LITE_ON_COMBO_LTC_48161H property storage.partitioning_scheme = '' (new) volume_label_EINSTEIN_DVD_1 removed storage_model_LITE_ON_COMBO_LTC_48161H property storage.removable.media_available = true storage_model_LITE_ON_COMBO_LTC_48161H property storage.removable.media_size = 7816536064 (0x1d1e6e000) volume_label_DISC_2 added volume_label_DISC_2 property volume.mount_point = '/media/DISC_2' volume_label_DISC_2 property volume.is_mounted_read_only = true volume_label_DISC_2 property volume.is_mounted = true -- Rob
