There are two or three wifi networks around me. I think the houses next to me have one each because their signal is quite strong - stronger than the signal from my router! I suppose there's no way to block them, but I can't believe the other newtworks kill my signal so much. My old 802.11b router/pcmcia card always managed a 98% to 100% signal strength when I was in the same room. The current router/pcmcia card can't even go over 50%. I'm considering returning the hardware because of the piss poor performance. Devices from other networks shouldn't kill it so much.
