if you're doing a remote access/headless node, you don't have to have a mouse/keyboard/monitor continually hooked to the box. it is a good idea to have them close by if you 'need' to do a local/troubleshooting process. setting up the box for headless running can sometimes be tricky, depending on the bios. there's plenty of information on how to do a headless setup via google. if you run across a situation that's 'different' than what's online, make sure you write it up, repost it to the mailing list!!! good luck! -----Original Message----- From: fedora-list-bounces@xxxxxxxxxx [mailto:fedora-list-bounces@xxxxxxxxxx]On Behalf Of Gene Heskett Sent: Saturday, December 02, 2006 9:22 AM To: fedora-list@xxxxxxxxxx Cc: Mike - EMAIL IGNORED Subject: Re: Do I need monitor, mouse, keyboard? That said, I've seen some bios's tha would not proceed if the keyboard was unplugged. Dumb bios IMO. I'm running DD-WRT on an old 500MHZ Compaq, completely headless. -- Cheers, Gene "There are four boxes to be used in defense of liberty: soap, ballot, jury, and ammo.
