amending yum and the config/repo files

I was wondering if it was worthwhile or correct to amend the yum
process.

What I mean is, will things get messed up if I install the rpmforge
package(s), (DAGS stuff) or Livna?

Right now there is nothing available for fc6 in rpmforge (dag) but maybe
that is ok? And the same with Livna.

So, what does one do? The real reason why I ask is that with repo files
set up for livna and dag yum seems to find all the files one is looking
for.

Any thoughts on this? And is there a better way to adjust things?
