As a matter of interest,
what is the relation between (in my case)
/etc/sysconfig/networking/profiles/default/ifcfg-eth0
/etc/sysconfig/networking/devices/ifcfg-eth0
/etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-eth0
?

I'm pretty sure the last is the one looked at, if there is any difference.
It seems crazy to have these different files
apparently serving the same purpose.
