My question still remains. Right now my Firefox video play keeps poping
up as MPlayer. I got that by uninstalling Totem and installing MPlayer.
Some sites ask for RealPlayer etc. I believe, I know that as long I
have the backends they can all play each other's code (codecs??).

How can I change have more than I plugin and change them on the fly? Is
that necessary? What if I just want to see how each one works before
making a final choice?
