for FC6 goodies, i've found this site is helpful:

  as for the totem that's shipped with FC, maybe it's just me but i've
found it to be as useful as a condom machine at the vatican.  i just
got used to removing it immediately and replacing it with totem-xine
from the livna repo if that's what you really want.

  i've found that mplayer seems to do everything i need.
